Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hard surfaces

A resurgent Medvedev claimed his first trophy for nearly 30 months with success over opponent Moutet in the tournament title decider.

The athlete, a ex- number one, has experienced a challenging season, managing just a single victory at the Grand Slams and undergoing a difficult moment at the American major.

Medvedev's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and issues with his serving in particular - resulted in him falling of the top ten and finally splitting with former mentor Cervara.

Presently working with his coach and Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently advanced in the past month - peaking in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over challenger Moutet.

It is the player's first championship after the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard court since spring of 2023.

The win also signifies he has secured twenty-one titles at 21 various competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a competition with my two daughters simultaneously, so to get a title is especially meaningful," said world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in honour of my younger daughter her name, because the maiden victory I achieved when my child Alisa was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his past six championship matches, including in Halle in the past months.

The player's defensive play style and recurring outbursts on court had caused commentators to question if his ability to play at the elite level was concluded.

But the player has implemented adjustments in the past month, striving to come to the net and perform assertively, reinforced by an better serve.

He came back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the challenging Moutet, taking four of the last five games to gain the advantage.

Both players exchanged service breaks in the middle set before the challenger, attempting for his maiden tour title, seized the initiative to create a third set.

The opponent saved four early-game chances in a tight third set before Medvedev broke to 15 to secure the win.

Suitably, he clinched the win with a rally at the net, with Moutet failing to manage a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
