From the very beginning of Campaign 4, fresh DM the talented storyteller has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a colorful mix of personalities, and a thrilling plot showcasing divine entities, fiends, and sinister influences increasing in power within Dol-Makjar.
Heads-up: Revealing details for Episode 3 of this adventure follow below.
The Warrior Group Revealed
Episode 3 finished on a major cliffhanger and introduced the first table of adventurers who will split off from the central cast to embark on their independent quest, apart from the other two tables.
This warrior group includes the determined fighter (portrayed by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
With 13 cast members, it was obvious from the outset that keeping everyone at a single group would be impossible.
This explains, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Introduction, intertwining the characters’ stories before dividing into three separate parties: Soldiers, Planners, and Seekers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
Per the DM, the warrior group is for players who are drawn to a traditionally charged fight-heavy narrative style where peaceful solutions are scarce.
Upon first impression, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander might appear out of place, but the actions of the third episode make it clear why these five characters are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the group has a clear idea where to go next after a violent initial meeting with the enemy group.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose death initiated the campaign’s events—manipulated the foes for his own means, entering the hidden lair, assaulting the character, and swiping all the enchanted items to auction.
The traitor then cleared his obligations and fled to a secure base in the remote area, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each member has a individual motive to exit the urban setting:
- Thimble, as the close ally and closest confidant, desires retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in the northern area and cautions that it is a hostile environment.
- The warrior and Wicander, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to kill Teor and instead saved him, have no other options.
- However, their position as key figures in the influential clan could enable the party enter areas they usually can’t.
- Moreover, The grateful character swore a eternal obligation to The cleric for his salvation and will now accompany him wherever.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are sought by the powers that control the city for a multiple motives, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- The rogue and The hero are known criminals.
- The strong figure and The healer betrayed the influential house and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- Teor is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This leaves them little choice but to head to Timmony in search of the traitor.
